From the outset, Jean is able to tell clients what a judge or an arbitrator will think of their case. This enables him to help clients develop the strongest areas of their case, while bolstering the areas which are weaker. In negotiation, mediation and litigation, Jean is able to effectively present the strengths of his client’s position, while also zeroing in on the weaknesses of his opponent’s position.
Jean has achieved excellent results in mediations/negotiations and litigation throughout his career. He has successfully tried several complex CSST matters (workplace safety), labour arbitrations and labour litigations. Jean has appeared before several courts and tribunals including the Supreme Court of Canada and the Quebec Court of Appeal. Jean has also been extensively involved in the drafting and negotiation of several major employment agreements.
Over the course of Jean’s career, he has advised and represented beneficiaries, estates, executors/liquidators and trustees in numerous disputes. His experience with representing numerous clients in very different circumstances has broadened his understanding of all potential parties. This makes Jean is a valued asset in resolving and litigating successions disputes.
